Worked example
When comparing user objects, new fields appear as added lines. A changed value appears as an old line removed and a new line added. Format first to avoid indentation noise.
Understanding settings and results
- Comparison uses formatted text lines and the LCS algorithm.
- Different object-key orders may also appear as differences. Use a consistently ordered source before comparing.
Scope and limitations
- This visual comparison does not determine which data is correct.
- Line-by-line comparison of large arrays may be slow.
Troubleshooting
- If everything seems changed, format both inputs and check line-ending styles.
- Remove irrelevant metadata fields first if you only need to compare values.
