Upload a PDF and enter page numbers or ranges to create a new PDF.
By default, files are merged in list order, preserving each page size and orientation. Choose smart page combining if you need to save paper.
Split a PDF into separate files: one per page or groups defined by page ranges.
Add horizontal or vertical lines or a grid in the page preview, or select a rectangular area to crop.
Reduce PDF size by optimizing content streams and re-encoding embedded images.
Convert each PDF page to PNG or JPG and download the images as a ZIP archive.
Upload a PDF and click text to edit it. Download a new file when finished, then review the text and layout.
Extraction, splitting and cropping produce different results. Decide whether you need one file or several, then choose a tool. Keep a separate original, especially for documents with digital signatures, forms or annotations.
| Your task | Tool to use | Output and checks |
|---|---|---|
| Submit only pages 1, 3 and 8 of a 20-page document | Extract pages | One three-page PDF. Check actual file page positions, which may differ from the page numbers printed on the document. |
| Deliver pages 1–3 and 4–6 separately | Split by page | Two PDFs in a download archive. This does not split content inside a page. |
| A scanned sheet contains two stacked receipts | Split along lines | Crop regions into new pages. Dimensions shrink with the selection; check print scaling. |
| Pages are out of order, rotated or unnecessary | Organize pages | Use thumbnails to reorder, rotate or delete pages. Check the retained page count before exporting. |
| Combine a cover, body and attachments | Merge PDFs | Default merging preserves page sizes and orientation. Optional smart combining scales content down and reduces page count. |
| File exceeds the upload limit | Inspect first → then compress | Files containing large images may benefit. Already compressed files can grow; compare byte sizes before choosing a version. |
| Edit text or export page images | Edit content / To images | Editing scanned text requires OCR and manual review. Converting to images loses searchable text and PDF links. |
Use Inspect files to examine text and images. Pages with a text layer usually allow text extraction; image-only pages need recognition. Inspect mixed documents page by page. A detected text layer does not guarantee correct OCR, and detected images do not mean there is no text.
Compression re-encodes images; the quality value is not a percentage size reduction. Start from the original, compare file sizes and zoom in on small text, stamps and lines. Increasing quality cannot recover lost source detail. Download the test sample that grew after compression for comparison.
Preserving pages refers to dimensions, orientation and order, not identical file bytes. Regenerating a PDF can invalidate signatures. Check bookmarks, attachments and interactive content separately. Keep and submit the signed original when signature validation matters.
Cropped output has different paper dimensions. Actual size and Fit to page produce different results. See the page dimensions and print scaling guide and test one printed page first.
PDF uploads are limited to 150 MB total per request (using 1024 × 1024 bytes per MB). Files are uploaded to the server, and OCR may submit page images to the configured third-party service. Do not upload files if these methods are unacceptable. Download temporary results promptly. See the Privacy Policy.
